Marrakech: A 5-Day Student Trip

Trip Overview

Marrakech is where most students studying abroad end up for their first trip outside their home city, and it’s easy to see why. This trip is built around the parts people actually remember: rooftop dinners over Jemaa el-Fna, real Moroccan food, wandering the souks and the Medina’s old streets, and nights with belly dancing and live music. Add a hot air balloon ride over the Atlas Mountains, an ATV run through the Agafay Desert, and a sunset camel ride through the Palmeraie, and five days goes by fast.

Itinerary

Upon landing at Marrakech Menara Airport, you’ll be welcomed by our team holding a sign with your name and group. You’ll then be transferred to your chosen riad or hotel. (Optional: spend the rest of the day exploring Jemaa el‑Fna, have dinner at one of the open‑air stalls or nearby restaurants, and soak up the city’s vibrant atmosphere.) Return to your accommodation when you’re ready to rest and prepare for tomorrow.

After breakfast, we’ll head out for a scenic hike in the beautiful Ourika Valley, known for its lush landscapes and stunning waterfalls. You’ll enjoy a traditional Moroccan lunch in this breathtaking natural setting.

In the afternoon, we’ll drive back to Marrakech, just a 50-minute ride, and head straight to the Medina for a short walking tour around the lively Jemaa El-Fna square.

Later, we’ll visit the iconic Palmeraie, where you’ll ride camels through the palm groves and take in a magical sunset view. After returning to your accommodation for a two-hour rest, we’ll take you to the restaurant of your choice for a well-deserved dinner.

After breakfast, we’ll take a short 45-minute drive to the stunning Agafay Desert, a rocky, moon-like landscape just outside Marrakech. Once there, you’ll have the chance to relax, take in the breathtaking scenery, and enjoy ATV ride.

We’ll enjoy lunch at a desert camp offering panoramic views and a peaceful atmosphere, a perfect contrast to the city’s energy.

In the late afternoon, we’ll return to Marrakech, giving you time to rest, explore, or do some final shopping in the Medina.

To close the trip on a high note, we’ll head to a vibrant restaurant for dinner featuring live music and traditional Moroccan shows. Expect an unforgettable night filled with performances, delicious food, and a great atmosphere to celebrate your last evening together.

After breakfast, plans will depend on your flight schedule. If you’re departing early, we’ll arrange a smooth transfer to the airport. For those with later flights, you’ll have the chance to enjoy a peaceful morning visiting some of Marrakech’s most beautiful spots, including the Majorelle Garden and the Yves Saint Laurent Museum, a perfect way to end your trip with art, nature, and calm.

We actually own our own transportation company, so it’s not some random driver you’ve never met. Everything is clean, comfortable, and driven by drivers we know and trust.

Marrakech is a great place to start, especially for a first trip, but it’s not the only side of Morocco worth seeing. The desert and the coast each have a completely different feel, so if you have the time, combining two or more is honestly the best way to experience the country.

Yes, this trip can be extended to more days or shortened to fit your schedule. It also pairs well with our desert or coast trips if your group wants to add more of Morocco, or both, for the full experience.
