Three Towns, One Coast: A Surf Trip Through Morocco

Trip Overview

This trip takes you through three surf towns, each with its own personality, in one smooth run down the coast. Start in Tamraght, ease into Taghazout’s energy, then slow all the way down in Imsouane for two full days by the water. Surf every morning, eat well, catch live music, and actually have time to sit with a journal and your thoughts if that’s your thing. It’s the trip that covers everything Morocco’s coast does best.

Itinerary

Land in Agadir, where your English-speaking driver will welcome you and drive you to Tamraght. Spend the evening settling in, walking the quiet streets, and getting your first taste of coastal Morocco before the trip picks up pace.

Morning surf session right in Tamraght, followed by breakfast by the water. In the afternoon, move over to Taghazout, Morocco’s surf capital, for a change of energy. Spend the evening exploring the village, with dinner and live music somewhere in town.

Start with a morning yoga session, then a last surf in Taghazout before heading down the coast to Imsouane. Once you arrive, ease into the slower rhythm this town is known for, this is where the trip settles in for two full days.

A full day built around Imsouane’s famous long wave. Surf in the morning, then the rest of the day is yours: relax on the beach, grab fresh seafood, write, read, or just enjoy the view. Evening ends with good food and music by the water.

One last morning surf session before breakfast and the drive back to Agadir or Marrakech for departure.

trip highlights

We’ve got you covered on where to stay. We work with a range of nice hotels along the route, plus we’re partnered with some of the best hostels in the area, so whether your group wants something more social or a bit more private, there’s a comfortable option that fits. Everyone gets a great breakfast to start the day, and honestly, the stays end up being part of the whole experience, not just a place to crash.

Mornings often start with a bit of yoga before heading out to surf, a good way to stretch out and wake up before hitting the waves. Beyond the main itinerary, there’s plenty to add on depending on what your group’s into: quad biking, camel rides, horseback riding along the beach, paddleboarding, kite surfing lessons, and even day trips to nearby fishing villages. Let us know what your group wants more of, and we’ll build it in.

Any size group works. If there are more than 20 of you, just book in advance, since all our trips run private.

Just like all the coast trips. Comfortable, casual clothes, a swimsuit, and something for cooler evenings.

This coast works well most of the year. Summer is warm without the intense heat you’d get inland, and winter stays mild, though it can get breezy, especially in Essaouira. Spring and fall are the sweet spot if you want the calmest weather. For surfing its flat in summer, but we will drive you to near by places to find waves.

We actually own our own transportation company, so it’s not some random driver you’ve never met. Small groups ride in a Toyota Prado, bigger groups get a Mercedes Vito van or Sprinter minibus, and for groups over 20 we bring in a full-size bus. Everything is clean, comfortable, and driven by drivers we know and trust.

Yes, we can include or exclude activities to suit what you and  your group like.

Yes, both Taghazout and Essaouira are considered very safe towns, used to hosting travelers and student groups. Our team is with you throughout the trip.

It’s a completely different side of the country from Marrakech or the desert, surf towns, ocean air, and a slower pace. If you have the time, combining it with Marrakech or the desert is the best way to see more of what Morocco offers.

Yes, this trip can be extended to more days or shortened to fit your schedule. It also pairs well with our desert or coast trips if you or your group wants to add more of Morocco, or both, for the full experience.
